Dr. Megan Kussmaul, DC, RYT 200

Chiropractor, Yoga Instructor

Dr. Megan was born and raised in Prairie du Chien, WI, and she graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 2003. She was inspired to enter the chiropractic field at an early age by Dr. Jim Greenwald, as she had been getting adjusted by him since she was an infant. She was also involved in an auto accident with her mom and sister Gretchen when she was 9 years old and experienced more benefits of chiropractic care. She had always been fascinated with the medical field, and yet she loved the natural aspect of health and wellness. She went on to earn a dual-degree in Biochemistry and Biology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2007 and from there, she moved to Davenport, IA to begin her chiropractic journey. Dr. Megan was fortunate enough to be able to travel to Madagascar in the fall of 2010 on a clinic abroad trip, and she also worked as an intern for Dr. Linda Lorenz in La Crosse, WI before graduation. She graduated magna cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2011 with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, and she became an associate shortly after for Lorenz Chiropractic in Boscobel, WI where she practiced for 5 years. Due to the perfect timing of the Universe, Dr. Kari Lund approached Dr. Megan about taking over her practice one day, and it was a perfect fit. She started Primitive Health Chiropractic and Wellness Center on March 1, 2017. The wellness, family-oriented practice that Dr. Lund had established was exactly what Dr. Megan had dreamed of and planned to do. Many new and exciting things will be coming to add on to what Dr. Kari has already implemented at the practice, and Dr. Megan is excited to be back in the Marquette/McGregor/Prairie du Chien area.

Dr. Megan is a 200-hour certified Yoga teacher, a Reiki Master, is certified in the Webster technique for pregnancy, and is a BIRTHFIT Leader. She has also completed the DNS Exercise Level one seminar, the BIRTHFIT Professional seminar, and many seminars from the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association for which she is a member and is currently working on her pediatric certification. Dr. Megan loves working with any and all individuals and families, but she is especially fascinated with women’s health in the motherhood transition and pediatrics.

Dr. Megan lives in Mount Hope, WI with her husband, Ryan and two children, Mason and Charlotte. She enjoys spending time with her family, being out on the Mississippi River, golfing, gardening, reading, and practicing yoga.

In 2017, she graduated from Capri College, and she moved back to Prairie du Chien. In December of 2017, she joined Dr. Megan at Primitive Health Chiropractic, and it has been an amazing experience and journey.
