Meet Dr. Megan (Rickleff) Kussmaul
Dr. Megan was born and raised in Prairie du Chien, WI, and she graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 2003. She was inspired to enter the chiropractic field at an early age by Dr. Jim Greenwald, as she had been getting adjusted by him since she was an infant. She was also involved in an auto accident with her mom and sister when she was 9 years old and experienced more benefits of chiropractic care. She had always been fascinated with the medical field, and yet she loved the natural aspect of health as well. She went on to earn a dual-degree in Biochemistry and Biology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2007 and from there, she moved to Davenport, IA to begin her chiropractic journey. Dr. Megan was fortunate enough to be able to travel to Madagascar in the fall of 2010 on a clinic abroad trip, and she also worked as an intern for Dr. Linda Lorenz in La Crosse, WI before graduation. She graduated magna cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2011 with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, and she became an associate shortly after for Lorenz Chiropractic in Boscobel, WI where she practiced for 5 years. Due to fate and perfect timing, Dr. Kari Lund approached Dr. Megan about taking over her practice some day. It was a perfect fit! The wellness, family oriented practice that Dr. Lund had built was exactly what Dr. Megan had dreamed of and planned to do. Many new and exciting things will be coming to add on to what Dr. Kari has already done at the practice, and Dr. Megan is excited to be back in the Marquette/McGregor/Prairie du Chien area.
Dr. Megan lives in Mount Hope, WI with her husband, Ryan and two children, Mason (5) and Charlotte (2) and she enjoys spending time with her family, being out on the Mississippi River, golfing, gardening, and practicing yoga. Dr. Megan is also a 200 hour certified Yoga teacher, is certified in the Webster technique for pregnancy, and is a BIRTHFIT professional.
Dr. Megan uses chiropractic care to improve the health and wellness in all areas of patient's lives, whether they are having problems with back pain or neck pain, or just want to start feeling better when they wake up in the morning. Dr. Megan takes a "whole person" approach in chiropractic care, which means looking for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Many seemingly unrelated symptoms often arise from imbalances in the spinal column, and Dr. Megan will be able to determine the root of the pain and create a personalized chiropractic and wellness plan to suit each patient's individual needs. Under the supervision and care of our caring and skilled chiropractor, patients report higher functioning in all areas of their lives.
